I've been watching World Cup since 2006 or when I was 8. I didn't really understand football that time, but I remember I was going with Germany at first and Brazil at the end as my favourite. After that, I never missed World Cup and its round after group phase. Growing up, I learned some 'taste' of football, and I became a fan of Netherland, since EURO 2008 actually.
June 2018 comes in like a lion, very fast and exciting, especially for football fans around the world. There will be another series of world cup after 4 years, which will be held in Russia. My favourite team, Netherland, this year didn't get away just like what they did in Euro 2016. Sucks. Actually, beside Holland with their total football, I also loved to see Italy with their catenaccio. Since I'm a loyal fan, I'm not trying to say Italy is my second option, because there's only one option for a loyal person. It's just fun to see catenaccio. But unlucky me, again, Italy didn't get away too! Well done, World Cup 2018.
Just like EURO 2016, since there's no Netherland in this series, if someone ask me which team will come out as champions, then I would like to say...
..it should be Belgium.
I'm still with the same reason as before: there are some Chelsea and Ex-Chelsea players on Belgium, they're rising power, Historically they were decolonized by Netherland (which is my favourite), and I'm sure they could make a surprise in this 2018's World Cup.
I was going with Belgium too in EURO 2016, and I think they were impressive but because they didn't quite ready, they lost in quarter final, 1-3 against Wales. Against Gareth Bale, actually. It's okay, they should've learned a lot in EURO 2016 and in this 2018 they should be ready.
Ooooops, I almost forgot something. Even i'm going with Belgium, but the match I really waiting for is Egypt vs Spain. I really want to see Moh Salah and Sergio Ramos again since the UCL Final which was a bit disappointing for Salah. I really really really hope, Salah could beat up Ramos. I'm not a fan of Salah or Liverpool, but it'll be a good football drama when Salah successfully complete his revenge.
So, here are my predictions:
- Belgium win the World Cup 2018
- Egypt pass the group phase
- Spain and Germany couldn't talk too much like before
- Brazil will come back
- South Korea will surprise Sweden and Mexico in the group phase
Thats all, my expectations.
I have not watched a World Cup match in years but I remember Italia 90 very well as it was the first time I was glued to the screen for the duration of the tournament.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about 90's :")
DeleteHahahahaha, ak yg sbnrnya bukan fans bola, ga ngerti juga, tp kdg suka keikut excitementnya gara2 suamiku. Dan dia tipe setia sih... Dari sejak ngerti bola ampe skr, fav dia kalo world cup cuma Jerman, mungkin krn dia prnh lama tinggal di sana :p. Jd thn inipun ttp sama, kita bakal dukung jerman lg. Blm beli bajunya nih, biar pas nobar seru hahahah
ReplyDeletewih, alasan yang bisa diterima. Pernah tinggal di Jerman, dukung jerman.
DeleteI would like it if England won, being from England but the chances of that are so slim haha. We will still be watching though.
ReplyDeletewell, since World Cup 2010, England supporters always say that. "slim"
DeleteToo bad Nainggolan wont be in the team this time, it s pretty much make many Belgians disappointed about that result..I ve seen many posters in several spots the reaction of the people that supporting Nainggolan..Hopefully red devils still can make it far this year !
ReplyDeleteHello ms, long time no see!
DeleteWow, thanks for that information btw. I didn't know about nianggolan's update. Yeah, too bad.
I don't follow soccer at all, so this was super interesting to me! I love all your predictions, lets hope they come true!
ReplyDeleteYou don't know soccer, but I know if you are definitely form USA :")
DeleteI am not a football fan so had no idea until seeing this that even was the World Cup this year, will be interesting to see which of your predictions are right.
ReplyDeleteyeahhh
DeleteShould it? What about Germany or wildcard Portugal? Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI don't think this year will be a good year for Germany, since they've always been great in recent football tournaments such as EURO and World Cup, this year should be a anticlimax for them. Portugal?? Sure, they were champion of last EURO but... I'm not sure they will be as lucky as before
DeleteInteresting predictions here. I am not a football fan at all but I like to know what is going on in the football world.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is so excited about the FIFA World Cup including me, and mind you, I'll follow up to the finals just as many. But Belgium? Nooo! I'll just wait and see since I can't really predict.
ReplyDeletewhy nooot? If you want to invest to something, you must pay attention to something that unique and potential enough.. so does Belgium
DeleteI totally agree with all your predictions! I've seen South Korea's game in person. South Korea will definitely surprise Sweden and Mexico in the group phase!
ReplyDeleteI see.. we got Daehan Minguk Supporter here. But it's a bad result for South Korea in their last friendly match btw.
DeleteI still haven't thought about the upcoming World Cup but will find time to review and make a prediction. Looking forward for another awesome and exciting event for all football fans.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Fifa World Cup will be a spectacle and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. I don't know enough about football to be passionate about one team or another, but I will keep my eye on Belgium now.
ReplyDeletecool, keep it, mr!
DeleteI don't know anything about soccer but I am hoping your team wins!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I don't follow soccer but I do love Belgium and sad they didn't make it. I'll have to ask my husband about this. He does follow it so I'm sure he'd love to hear your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI really hope England wins, never really excited about sports, but this world cup I am.
